thereuare Posted July 10, 2004 Report Share Posted July 10, 2004 The Enterprise WEBSITE states that they offer AAA and AARP discounts (so i'd think they may offer a govt. rate as well) but it simply says:When you make a reservation online with Enterprise, the rate quoted will be the best available and will include the benefit of any applicable special discount being offered. We also offer additional discounts to members of AAA (American Automobile Association) and AARP (American Association of Retired Persons). If you qualify for either of these discounts, please notify your Enterprise representative when you pick up your rental car. The adjustment will be made at that time. Special discounts for some airline employees and travel agents are also available, but do require employee identification at the time of rental.I think the above is stupid as most people want to know the rate before their trip and not figure out their discount once they get to the counter! :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
thereuare Posted July 10, 2004 Report Share Posted July 10, 2004 I just went thru the steps at THRIFTY RENT-A-CAR website and look at the taxes and add'l charges in this area!Rental Time Charge $156.94 Concession Recovery Fee (11.11%) $17.44 City Tax (5%) $10.56 Fleet Recovery Fee ($1.61 per day) $11.27 Rental Car Facility Charge ($1.95 per day) $13.65 Sales Tax (10%) $21.12 TX Permissible Reimbursement ($1.70 per day) $11.90 Total Estimated Mandatory Charges (USD) $242.88 Estimated Grand Total (USD) $242.88 A $157 quoted rate nets out at $243!!
