Booked the 4* Hotel Palomar (Dupont Circle - Woodley Park) for 9/12/08-9/21/08 ... $155/night.

Hoped for a better rate, but prices seem to be going up for the period of our stay (and quite a few hotels on Expedia, Orbitz etc are coming back with no availability for these dates).

I placed 6 bids in a 20 minute period, using the "free rebid" suggestions from this forum:

$105 - 4*, Dupont Circle

$105 - 4*, Dupont Circle + White House / Downtown

$111 - 4*, Dupont Circle + White House / Downtown + Convention Center

$120 - 4*, Dupont Circle + White House / Downtown + Convention Center + DC Suburbs Northeast

$135 - 4*, Dupont Circle + White House / Downtown + Convention Center + DC Suburbs Northeast + Springfield

$155 - 4*, Dupont Circle + White House / Downtown + Convention Center + DC Suburbs Northeast + Springfield + Crystal City

Dupont Circle + White House / Downtown + Convention Center are the 3 zones we were looking to stay within. There are no 4* hotels (as of this moment) in DC Suburbs Northeast + Springfield + Crystal City.

I'm a first time Priceline bidder, so really appreciate all of the usefuly information (hotel listing) and strategy help! Oh, and I did use the PRICELINE link from your forum signature to start bidding.
