Priceline Hotel: Priceline results on Kauai

First time user of this site, but it looks great so far.

I will be in Kauai Jan 5-10, 2009, and would like to try for the Grand Hyatt. I see that the Hyatt and the Marriott are both on the list of resorts for PRICELINE. I'm sure the Marriott is nice, but is there anything I can do to increase my chances of getting the Hyatt (such as starting my bid a bit higher, etc.).

With PRICELINE there is no way to target, or avoid, a particular hotel... and it's usually not recomended bidding higher in hopes of receiving the 'better' property, as you may just end up overbidding for the 'lesser' property, as per this Don't Bid Higher For a Specific Hotel thread.

If you are trying to target a specific property HOTWIRE may be a better option as you can often identify the hotel before your purchase based upon the amenities that HOTWIRE associates with the property.
