Priceline Hotel: Special event in NYC next week?

Hello everybody,

I would like to visit NYC end of next week for couple of days, but saw a jump in hotel prices starting on Monday. Is there some sort of event going on which could explain? On Monday I know there is the 9/11 rememberance but does that start already on Monday?

There's always something going on in NYC... and it never really matters what it is, you simply have to look at hotel rates and adjust your bidding/expectations accordingly.

Not sure of the exact dates/range you're considering, but the US Open is in town from 8/25-9/7, there may be various conventions of varying sizes, and historically it's post-Labor Day so rates tend to go up substantially from a seasonality perspective.

What are the dates and star rating you're considering and what is your expected budget?
