Priceline Hotel: Bidding Help Needed - 5* or 4* - the strip

I am planning on going to Las Vegas for a our honeymoon.

Here are the dates we are going:

Check in - Tuesday Sept. 30th or Wednesday October 1st - were flexiable

Check out - Monday October 6th

I would prefer to stay somewhere on the strip, in one of the larger hotels w/casino. I was thinking hopefully a 5 or 4 star.

What price should I start with? Should I change my dates, because I have booked a hotel in San Diego before and it offered me additional nights for the SAME PRICE if I extended my stay. For example. should I check in on the 1st and do a check out on the 4th, then choose the additional nights? I was just thinking if I had a better chance of my bid being accepted.
