Priceline Hotel: 3* NYC Airports (Airport LGA) Crowne Plaza

You recommend in many of your posts to ASK FIRST. I'm giving it a try and I thank you in advance.

I have a number of options; and not sure if I should use HOTWIRE or PRICELINE (and will happily use your link).

I need a hotel 10/17-10/18 one-night pre-cruise (cruise leaves from Manhattan). I can fly into any of the airports, but I'm looking at one into LGA. I travel solo and will be arriving late evening, so prefer something easy to get to and relatively safe; and as inexpensive as possible). I'll take taxi to pier next day (unless hotel has shuttle to pier??), so nearby attractions/transport not an issue.

Hotel need not be any big deal (small room, lumpy bed, etc. ok), but safety is impt, no bugs and general cleanliness. I stayed at the Newark Days Inn Airport last visit and didn't feel very safe, but rest of visit was fine.

What star level would you equate with this type of property?

as inexpensive as possible

This is relative in NYC... what would be your maximum budget? (or at least a ballpark)

Since posting last, it looks like I'll be coming into LGA. I've seen the following on HOTWIRE:

$134 = 3.5-star hotel in LaGuardia Airport LGA. Amenities: Shuttle, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, laundry, internet.

$129 = 3-star hotel in LaGuardia Airport LGA. Amenities: Shuttle, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, internet.

Would prefer to pay less than $150 total. Any other options or bargains to be had on PRICELINE?

The 3.5* is a match for the Crowne Plaza and the 3* is a match for the Holiday Inn so that would be our best guess for each.

You can either choose one of the above or try to beat the prices offered above via PRICELINE. (but not have a guess as to which hotel you might receive)
