dahank Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Was able to get a 3 star hotel in Madison, Wisconsin for the weekend...a Badger football weekend. Started at $65. Finally got accepted at $80...at the Holiday Inn Madison at the American Center.Question: I keep reading about how to bid on 4 star hotels in zones where there aren't any 4 star hotels. I don't see how you can do that....Priceline doesn't allow that. If a zone only has 3 star hotels you can only bid as high as 3 stars, you cannot bid on a 4 star hotel in that zone. Right?

Right? You are right, but i think you may not be following what is being done and why. If you're bidding for a 4* hotel, you can then add others zones which do not contain any hotels higher than 3*... essentially bidding for the original zone <only> and not having to wait for a 24 hour lock-out period. This is what we refer to as re-bidding, and is detailed in this Priceline Re-Bidding Explained thread.
