doclove Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 I need some help getting my bid accepted with PRICELINE. I have been successful for the past few years following the tips given here, but I'm having trouble with this one.I'm looking for a 4* hotel in Downtown San Diego. The average rate for a room this date is $300-$400. I don't like to bid more than 50% of the normal room rate so I am trying to stay under $170. Here is the strategy I have been using.Bid 4* downtown at $150. Add free rebid of Point Loma at $160. Add free rebid of Mission Valley for $170. I have been trying this for the past month and have had no luck. Am I too early to be bidding for a November date, or am I just going to have to give up on getting the rate I want? Any other suggestions on how I can maybe get a better deal? I have seen people get $110 for downtown so I know that it is commonly done.I have also tried to get a 3* for the same dates in Mission Valley for $80 which is 50% of the normal rate with no luck also.

swa Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 It appears that there is a special event happening that weekend. All rooms are already sold out for November 8, 2008 at the La Pensione in Little Italy and the St. James in Gaslamp.
