morgoth Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Hi there, I am a first time Vegas visitor looking to bid on priceline for a 4* hotel for the dates of October 22nd through 25th (Wednesday to Saturday). It will just be the wife and I for our 15th wedding anniversary. From what I read elsewhere on the site these are the hotels listed for South Strip. I would appreciate some advice on placing a bid on Priceline.4* Luxor 4* MGM Grand4* Monte Carlo4* NYNY4* Planet Hollywood Aladdin4* The Westin Hotwire is listing 4 star near strip south for $89. I don't really have a maximum but don't want to pay to much either. We would just like a nice stay. Thanks very much for the help.
thereuare Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Given it's your first trip to Vegas you probably don't want the "near Strip South" hotel as you will want to be on or very close to the strip... so the $89/nite is probably not a fare comparison. With this in mind, the Westin (which also charges a Resort fee) is in the boundaries of PRICELINE's South Strip zone, but is located slightly off the strip... would this be an acceptable outcome? (if not we have some other ideas/options)Also, i realize that this is only a 3 nite stay, but since rates for Friday nite can often be 2x-3x rates for Friday and Saturday nite, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
