Travel_grl Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 I've read through some of these posts and it seems like a lot of you are suggesting to book directly through the hotels to get better prices than Hotwire. I have always been wary of booking anything without knowing what I'm getting so I'd love to hear some advice. We're looking at the dates of either November 8-11 or November 9-11 to stay on the strip in Las Vegas. We were originally only going to stay on the strip for Sun-Tues but if we can get a good deal for Sat. as well...we'd add that night. I've stayed in the Luxor before and the Riviera (don't want to stay there again...want something nicer). I hadbeen looking at 4* and above. I guess 3 1/2* scares me that I might end up at somewhere like the Riviera, Circus Circus, Stratosphere, etc. Thaks in advance.
thereuare Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Do note that on both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE the "North Strip" and "South Strip" zones do extend a little off strip, so while you are only bidding 'strip' zones, you could ultimately receive a hotel that is slightly off the strip. Would this be an acceptable outcome? (if not we hae other options as well)What is your maximum budget for a 4* hotel? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Travel_grl Posted August 26, 2008 Author Report Posted August 26, 2008 Are you serious? I specifically asked this question to Hotwire and was given this response. That was my fear...because I want to have a hotel directly on the strip...not something a block away. Ideally I would want to pay no more than $150/night but could go a little more than that. I'm obviously wanting the best deal I can find!"Dear Travel_grl,Thank you for contacting Hotwire regarding interest in booking a hotelin Las Vegas.I understand you are interested in booking a hotel on the Strip in LasVegas. We work diligently with our hotel partners to get great rates for ourcustomers.
