Priceline Hotel: 4* Ft Lauderdale (Downtown) Renaissance

Have lots of time before cruise, but being Spring Break week have been looking already ~weekly at both Hotwire and Priceline; also used the pinned lists and the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins from same week in 2008 as reference. Calendar showed 2008 4* wins at Crowne Plaza-Hollywood ($155) and Westin Diplomat ($176). Pinned list showed this hotel, but I had seen only a few wins reported over the last year. (Grande Yacht Club is the other 4* in the same Priceline area, but participation is listed as unknown)

Had previously bid up to $159 for 4* in downtown and/or beach and was rejected. Saw Renaissance show up on HOTWIRE at $166 yesterday; went to PRICELINE and knew I had a several free rebids, so started at $142 and was pleasantly surprised to have bid accepted. (With four rebid zones you could perhaps start about $122 and work your way up; and or use beach zone if you would also accept the Hyatt Pier 66 4*)
