Hello, I'm hoping someone with PL experience can help me out with a bidding strategy.

I'm heading to NYC for the first time and I'm looking for a 4* room for two nights from Saturday, August 23rd through Monday, August 25th.

Areas, in order of preference:

Midtown West

Central Park South

Midtown East

Times Square - Theatre District

I'd like to keep it under $250/night. The further under, the better! I don't know if that's at all realistic, so please tell me if it isn't :)

In any case, I've got a room booked at at the Doubletree Metropolitan for $299/night for a 2 double bed room if nothing else pans out.

I read the FAQs and came up with a bidding plan. I'm happy with the results, which I'll post in a new thread :)

Started at $180 with MTE, MTW and CPS. Kept adding re-bid zones and going up in $5 increments. At $205 it started giving me a counteroffer to add $25. I kept going in $5 increments and eventually and hit paydirt at $225.
