lisamarie050 Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Im going to be traveling to Boston 9/20 to the 23rd with my two friends.I was thinking of using priceline since Im not to picky on my hotel. Im just nervous about what kind Im going to get. I dont need anything fancy but I want something in a good part of town and close to some of the local things in the city. Were driving up from Jersey but are going to use public transportation for the few days were there. I read somewhere that section 4 and 6 were the best for that area. Any tips?
thereuare Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few things...First, PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. It is possible that you receive a hotel with only one bed and the hotel could be unable, or unwilling, to give you a room with two beds (or charge extra for such a room) Is this a risk you're willing to take? If not, HOTWIRE may be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensures sleeping accomodations for everyone you include in your search. What is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept? What is your maximum bid? What are zones 4 and 6... please use the name(s) that PRICELINE uses for the zones. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. lisamarie050 Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 Thanks for the tip about hotwire. I'll have to check that site out too.The minimum star rating would be an 2star, I think they would be fine for what we need which is basically a place to crash after exploring all day.My max bid would be 130 a night. The two zones I was looking at are Copley Square - Theatre District and Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial District. Thats from Priceline. Thanks
thereuare Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 To move forward, are you willing to take the risk of using PRICELINE and receiving a room with only one bed for the three of you OR did you see anything on HOTWIRE within your budget? Also, just so you're prepared, a quick look and rates seem very high for your dates. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. lisamarie050 Posted August 21, 2008 Author Report Posted August 21, 2008 Yes we can figure the bed situation out. I saw that the rates were pretty high. Ive looked at so many hotels latley, Im losing track!
thereuare Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 At the 2* level you have no re-bid zones available.Although i don't think this will be successful i'd try the following first:Select 2* Copley Square - Theatre District...Bid $85, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 2* Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial District...Bid $85, if rejected add Copley Square-Theatre District...Bid $100.Any questionsl feel free to ask. If the above is rejected post back and we'll revise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
