farfromrich Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Looking on Priceline for a 4*, Midtown hotel. The stay is September 20 - September 24. Is it reasonable to get something in the area of $200/night? What bid should I start at? Also, I checked out the wins database and I was wondering how comparable last year's results are to 2008 prices/hotels?Thanks
thereuare Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are high for these dates and it doesn't appear that $200 will currently be enough for these dates. We can suggest a strategy for you to follow to try, but what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking methods? farfromrich Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 I'm seeing $360+, with the average probably around $500. Any ideas how much of a discount can I reasonably expect over the posted rates?
thereuare Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 I'm guessing you're likely looking at high $200's-mid $300's, but even that may be optimistic at the moment. (unless the hotel you're refering to above is a 4* hotel and PRICELINE participant)What 4* hotel are you seeing for $360+... is it a 'known' hotel that is used by PRICELINE?Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
