I've been trying to get a hotel in Downtown Toronto using Priceline for the past few days and have had no luck. I checked on Hotwire and the two 4 star hotels are $200 and $300, which is WAY higher than I have ever seen. I don't know if something is going on or I just got really lucky every other time I got a hotel. Any ideas??

I'm not sure how much this matters, but the red sox are going to be in town. That is why I will be visiting. They generally travel with a very large fan base. We come from all over.

SORRY and good luck!

In addition to the Red Sox vs Jays game, the Canadian National Exhibition has opened for this year (it is only open for 2 weeks each year), as well as numerous other festivals across the city. This may explain the packed hotels. I would say that this weekend is the anomaly, as you are right, the prices are usually not this high.
