Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas (North Strip) Trump International

For the past week, I've been actively bidding on PRICELINE and had absolutely no success in landing a 5-star hotel under $190 for the Saturday of Labor Day weekend 8/30. This morning, I gave it another shot. My initial bid was $170 for a 5-star hotel with only the South Strip selected. That bid was declined. I added the North Strip and rebid; this bid was accepted by Trump International Hotel.

I really don't understand this. Yesterday I place a bid for $190 for both the North and South Strip regions and was declined. Why would they take today's offer when yesterday's bid was higher. I just don't understand their rationale.

Anyways, I'm totally bum-out that I got the Trump. I regret making the bid and had my heart set out on the Venetian, Palazzo or Mandalay Bay's the Hotel. I'm booked for the Palazzo for 8/31-9/2 thru their promotion, but needed a hotel for 8/30 night. I can't afford the regular advertise price ($349) so I'd figure I would give priceline a try. Didn't get what I hoping for. Oh well! I suppose its still a good deal consider that its on the Sat of Labor Day weekend.

Hi there, probably because the hotel room wasnt on priceline's inventory yesterday, (so wasnt there to bid on at any price), but was only put on today?!

It can catch you out if you're not careful - you should have asked for advice, - you have to expect any hotel in zone and rating you bid..

I wouldnt worry too much, although I havent been the trump looks really good! and it's only for a night.

I hope you have an enjoyable stay.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Sorry to hear you're disappointed in your win, but i wouldn't be too upset about it... reviews from this property have been very good, it's a short walk to the strip, and it's just one nite of your multi-nite stay. Use this first nite to unwind a little and take it easy, then the next day more to the Palazzo and 'go all out' if that's what you choose to do in Vegas.

As dechass points out, hotel inventory, and rates, change all the time... so the Trump must have lowered their 'opaque' rate within the 24+ hours between your bids.

Thanks for sharing your win with the board.
