Priceline Hotel: 4* Miami Downtown

I've tried to win a bid on a 4* - Miami Downtown- Oct 25 for 1 night on PRICELINE with no luck :-(

My highest bid was $110. Any suggestions???

The 'known' 4* hotels in this zone are prices at $229 and $300+.

What is your maximum bid for this stay? Do you have a back-up hotel? (if so, where and how much)

Is this a pre-cruise stay? (if so, what time do you land)

I was thinking of up to $150.

No back up hotel, yet. Should I have one?

Yes, Pre-cruise stay. We land at 4:30ish depending on if any flight delays.

I think it's a little early to lock-in a non-refundable rate of $150.

I would try to find a cancellable back-up as the Holiday Inn Cruise Port is already sold-out, and having an acceptable back-up takes some of the pressure fof when bidding. Try Quikbook, as well as our sister site, Hotels by the Pier.com, to find a refundable back-up.

I think i'm going to try the 3 star hotels for Downtown and see what I can find.

Whatever I find, I will let you know.

Is Oct 25th the HIGH season in Florida? I was thinking since it's technically still Hurricane season, prices might be different.

The Downtown zone is likely less affected by huricane season and more likely affected by business, and since this is a weekend, the number of cruise ships in port that day.

I'm up to $140 on Priceline and was again rejected.

The star rating was changed to 2* with hopes to get Marriott Downtown.....

Can you offer any tips?
