I intend to book 1 room from 21 Oct to 25 Oct. 5*. Both North and South strip is fine. As I'm staying till friday night, I realise that I might have to split up my bids, and I'm ok with it.

Looking for the cheapest rates. Please give some helps on the starting bid and the bid increment. Thanks.

Hi,

I think I need to specify a maximum bid, so maybe around 130 per night. Is that possible? Hopefully its possible for the weekday stay. Maybe shall just stay at a cheaper hotel on friday.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Did you want to try up to $130 for your entire stay first OR did you want to try for just the first 3 nites of your stay and then bid the extra nite separately?

Also, just a reminder that some of the hotels in the Strip zone(s) are not necessarily located directly on the strip, i assume you're find with that as well.

Hi,

I think $130 for my first 3 nights and then bid the friday nite seperately should be the best way.

By off strip hotels, I suppose you're refering to Trump International? Are there any other 5* hotels in the strip zone that are not on the strip?

The known 5* off the strip is the Trump. That is the only one that is known, but there could always be others (Wynn has never been reported, is located on strip, but i mention just as one more possibility out there at the 5* level)

Current rates suggest that $130 or less is going to be tough for a 5*, but to give it a try...

When bidding 5* in Vegas you have seven re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* North and South Strip...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135 (if you choose to go the extra $5)

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

PS- you could try the above first for your full 4 nite stay, then start over and try for the first 3 nites

Hi

I've tried for both 4 nights, 3 nights, and even just 1 night (21st), all rejected. Any guess how much higher I need to go to get a 5* room?

And of cos I used the betterbidding PRICELINE link

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.

Have your dates changed as the dates in your most recent post are different (but overlap) the original dates of this tread.

As well, your original request was for a 5* hotel... have you really lowered your standards for this stay to as low as a 2* property?? :)

Hi,

Sorry about that. I added another post as the dates are different and I'm trying via hotwire this time. I'm actually staying from 21st to 26th. I'm content with staying at a cheap 2* hotel over the (I suppose) more expensive fri/sat.

Actually this is my first stay at Vegas so I'm not really 100% sure what to expect at different * hotels. Was thinking of trying for a 5* hotel if its really within my budget. Since its not possible, will just have to stay at a lesser * hotel.
