What time to bid for same day hotel?

I'd like to stay at a hotel near Atlantic City airport (absecon) tomorrow night since I have an early am flight on Thurs. I lowballed a 2* level at $20 a couple of days ago, knowing that if I didn't get it, I could still bid tomorrow and even if that fails, could still get a hotel for around $45.

My question is what time tomorrow should I bid? I don't have to leave until around 6pm from my home, so I'm thinking bidding right before I leave would give me the best chance of snagging a low rate (since any open rooms for that night most likely won't be sold). I could always add west AC for a 2* and rebid.

Does this make sense?

Thanks!

these are typically 1* rated properties. There is no magic time to place your same day bid, I typically don't see prices drop at the end of the day. Keep in mind that the taxes and fees on PRICELINE are typically higher than the taxes if you book directly.

Good luck, let us know how you make out.
