Hi all

I'm looking to try out priceline for the above dates. I prefer to stay in USE, USW or Fishermans Wharf. I've primarily been looking for 4' hotels, as they are easy to locate and probably more fun to stay at.

As fra as i can see, Hilton in Union Square has rates @ $159 per night. Hyatt Regency are way over $200 a night. If i understand the principles correctly i'm likely to get Hilton if i bid for 4* in USW.

But how much and is it too soon to bid? My instinct is to go for a quick deal since the rate seems low. but it might be a little early.

Suggestions are welcome

Welcome to BetterBidding!

There is actually little correlation between the hotel with the least expensive hotel direct rate and the hotel you will win on PRICELINE.

What is your maximum bid for this stay (ie- think about how much of a discount you would need from the $159/nite Hilton rate to compensate for the 'unknown' factor)

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to hear of your resutls and that you're happy with the outcome.

Above you mentinoned bidding USE, USW, and FW, and there is a hilton property in each of these three zones. Since you listed the win as Hilton Downtown i assume it is either the Hilton in the USE or USW zone, but can you please clarify which one you received? (just list the address and we'll know which one it is)

Thank you for sharing your win with the board and for using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.

Enjoy your stay.
