Hotwire Hotel: 4* Ft Lauderdale Beach Area

New to this site and have never used Hotwire before either, so please bear with me.

A search for a 4* hotel in the Ft. Lauderdale Beach area for 1 night (12/12/08) resulted in 1 hotel for $122.00/night.

I feel this is a pretty good price for a 4* but would like to know which hotel it is.

The details say:

1) On the beach

2) 5.4 miles from FLL

3) Possibilites are: Intercontinental, Hyatt, Omni, plus other top brands and quality hotels

4) Trip Advisor rating is 4 out of 5 based on 280+ customer reviews

I originally thought it might be the "Hyatt Pier 66", but then changed my thoughts because the Hyatt is not "on the beach". Another thought is the Lago Mar, it's 5.4 miles from FLL and on the beach but is not one of Hotwires hotel suppliers. I've also rules out Holiday Inn Express and Extended Stay America because they are not on the beach and are considered 3* or less.

Does anyone have any thoughts.

I too am waiting to hear about this hotel. I want to book today for November, HOTWIRE has it for 109.00 per night. Did you book this yet?? If so is it the Pelican Resort.
