Priceline Hotel: Help - Bidding Strategy for 8/23 Downtown

I am going with some friends into the city for the night of Aug 23rd.

We will be taking the train downtown and going to the Greekfest that night.

One of us found a Marriot - not sure which one - for $175.

I think we can do better at that price.

PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy... you can't be assured that you will receive a room with two bids. Is this an acceptable risk you're willing to take?

If not HOTWIRE does allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and that can be an option as well if you're not willing to risk receiving a single bed.

Since we can not be assured of sleeping room for all four we are going to go another route.

As it turns out someone had enough credit card points to get a free room so we are going to do that.
