holtju2 Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 Hyatt is NOT sure bet on this zone. You can get the Hilton as well if I can recall right. Occasionally it can come up with this price too, although not as often as the Hyatt.Check-In Date: Sunday, July 4, 2004Check-Out Date: Monday, July 5, 2004Hotel Name: Hyatt Regency Irvine17900 Jamboree RoadIrvine, California 92714949-975-1234Summary of ChargesBilling Date: July 3, 2004Your Offer Price: $45.00Number of Rooms: 1Number of Nights: 1Subtotal: $45.00Taxes and Service Fees: $11.44Total Charges: $56.44
holtju2 Posted July 5, 2004 Author Report Posted July 5, 2004 The prepaid rate that Priceline had paid for this property was $48.58 including tax. Occupancy tax in Irvine is 10%. The base rate thus is $44.16 and probbaly the $45 that I bid on this was the lowest rate that would have been accepted by Priceline. It would be interesting to know whether Priceline gets additional discounts/kick backs from hotels.
thereuare Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 They get a commission in addition to the fees we customers pay.Whether the amount you're seeing is the rate that the commission is based on (amount * commission) or whether you're seeing the net rate (rate-commission=rate you're seeing) i'm not sure.
