jazzyone Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 I need your suggestions for bidding on:Harrisonburg, VAAugust 14, 1 nightPrefer suite as travelling with kids; or at least 2 1/2*Max: $60 (reasonable?)There's only 1 zone but so far I've been unsuccessful at 3* for $52, 2 1/2 * for $43, $48... and now locked out for another 24hr. Thanks!
thereuare Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!First, you are aware that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy and you could receive a hotel with only one bed?Is this an acceptable risk? If so, what's the best rate you're able to find for a 2.5* or higher rated hotel? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. jazzyone Posted August 7, 2008 Author Report Posted August 7, 2008 Yes. We're actually checking in around 7/8am and out by 2pm (or whenever late check out applies)... looking for a place to get some rest after a LONG drive - until we check in to our resort. This is a bigger concern than the beds - do you recommend I book directly then? Best rate for 2 1/2 star is $99 (only one is listed and it is a suite); best rate for 3* was $104 a few days ago, now shows $78.
thereuare Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 The issue that you're going to face is that check-in isn't usually until 3pm or so and checkout is usually 11am or so... so you do purchase the nite before (but not check-in until 8am and hope for a late check-out) OR do you bid for the nite of your check-in nad hope you can check-out early?I would try calling the hotel and see if they have a 'day rate' giving them the hours you'll likely need the hotel for.
