So, I checked and I just that the following convention is below:January 08, 2009, Thursday January 11, 2009, Sunday International Ces (consumer Electronics Show) Las Vegas Convention Center 148000.148000 attendees is pretty ridiculous. Am I wasting my time trying to find a 4* or better on the strip for less than $150 a night?Thanks.

Advertised rates are $500/night at hotel webpage/Orbitz/Expedia. There is the consumer electronics convention this week which I stated in a prior Hotwire board message. I saw the previous bid with TheHotel at $163, so I decided to try.I never used North Strip because I didn't want Trump. Original Bid - $140 - countered with $180Rebid - 145 - RejectedRebid - 145 - RejectedRebid - 155 - RejectedRebid - 160 - RejectedRebid - 165 - Accepted :)

It costs nothing to bid (except time) so it's worth trying, as rates in Vegas change more quickly and frequently than any other market. 148K is one of the largest conventions of the year, and current rates reflect the expected bookings... but with the economy in its current state the convention may turn out to have fewer attendees than expected and you could see rates soften a bit.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how if you try and keep us updated.EDIT: merged threads and didn't see your win before posting, but your win only emphasizes what i commented above... it's always worth trying!
