Lucky David Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 Hi all! Long time lurker, first time user...I'm needing a hotel from 9/7 to 9/13 in Orlando for a couple, sharing. We have no needs in terms of location, but would love a nice 3* if possible, else a 2.5* will be more than enough. Our only request is for a hotel with a pool if possible (in Orlando!), as well as a possibility of one with a fridge/mini-bar.We understand that the pool will be fairly simple to accommodate, but the fridge is another matter...Hoping to spend $25-35/night either avoiding a resort charge, or including it.Can someone give us a bidding strategy to attempt this ASAP? Just booked the flights from London, England, and would love to get the rooms booked too! Thanks so much!--Lucky.
thereuare Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you want to use PRICELINE you're likely to get a better price but no guarantee of a kitchenette/refrigerator... if you want to guarantee a refrigerator you'll need to use HOTWIRE and look for the Kitchenette icon (cheapest hotel with a kitchenette icon for your dates is $45/nite)If it's just a refrigerator you need (and not a microwave or kitchenette) you may be able to buy a small (dorm room sized, 1.7 cu ft) refrigerator for $50-60 (then take it to Tampa and dispose of it when you're done)Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Lucky David Posted August 6, 2008 Author Report Posted August 6, 2008 Thanks for the info - that's a good idea regarding buying the fridge...Could you help with the two requests on the basis of just getting the best deal available please - and a pool if possible!Cheers!--Lucky
thereuare Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 Did you want to try for a 3* up to $35 first or are you looking for the least expensive 2.5* or better hotel for this stay? One aspect you need to consider is that some hotels (more so at the 3* level than the 2.5* level) may charge resort fees which would be payable directl to the hotel and would be in addition to your PRICELINE bid. Also, there 11 zones which appear within the Orlando region, ahe zone stretches about 35 miles from North to South and 15 miles from East to West... please be sure to look at the map to confirm that any of the 11 zones are you acceptable to you.Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
