Average rate on the hotel website is $$319 for standard room.

Do people that pay $319 a night get the same kind of room as someone that pay $75? Just Curious

Seriously, there is no 'right' answer... some hotels do have 'priceline' rooms while others simply give the best available room at the time of check-in. As well, if something (anything) goes wrong with a stay it's very easy to say that it was a result of the cheap PRICELINE or HOTWIRE rate paid.

My take is that there are some "priceline rooms", but the vast majority of complaints are unfounded (not to say that the user wasn't happy with the room, but that they received the room due to their PRICELINE or HOTWIRE booking).

Users are entitled to, and should only expect, a "standard" room. Ocean views, the 10 rooms at the hotel with a balcony, or the room with the beautiful city skyline view are typically not standard rooms and the the hotel si right to hold these for their highest paying customers.

In your example above you're paying $250 less per nite than somebody paying the prevailing rate... for my money i can tolerate a little more should my room be next to an elevator and/or not have the coveted ocean view.

Can you please add to this thread the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view these by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near hte top right of their home page.
