thereuare Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 The rates you quoted above directly from the hotel are somewhat high, indicating higher than usual demand. So not only are rates high, but there is also less incentive for hotels to discount too deeply since they're not 'desperate' to fill rooms... if occupancy is high they'd rather hold on to the rooms available and try to sell them themselves (at higer rates).The good news is that things are always changing so cheaper inventory may be made avaialble as your dates approach, but as your bid is less than half of prevailing rates i would definately begin to think about a contingency plan (raise your bid, seek other zones, etc)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
