Hotwire Hotel: 4* Toronto (Downtown East) Westin Harbour Castle

This morning I was able to get the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto for $83 a night for Oct 10-Oct 12. I see that another poster got it for 84 a night the week before my dates so they must have plenty of rooms.

I went into Hotwire, saw that a Toronto Downtown East 4* hotel was listing a price of $83 a night, had a Tripadvisor.com 4 out of 5 rating with 240+ reviews. So I went to Tripadvisor.com, did a Toronto hotel search, found a hotel that had 4 out of 5 rating, 247 reviews and in the same general area. I went to the Westins sight to see the amenities, they have a tennis court. A tennis court nearby was listed on hotwire's description. I was sure it was the Westin, so i bought it. I figured even if it wasnt the Westin, i would still like the place i was getting.

It was the Westin.

On the Westin site the room was going for $389 a night, yeah right. Orbitz, PRICELINE, Hotels.com had it for $185 a night.

So 15-20 minutes of research saved me $200, got us a lake view, and we can walk to the Maple Leafs game.

I hope others do the same, i'm quite sure many do the research, but many others dont know how to figure out the hotels, so i made this a bit longwinded as a helper to others.

Thank you for sharing your results with the board. A better, and easier, suggestion than thet steps you took above would be to consult the Hotwire Hotel List which we maintain on the board :)
