Steven W Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 My new york trip is 9/27/08-10/4/08 (Sat-Sat) with totally 7 nights. thought it's too long from a PRICELINE bid. so decided to split into 2 or3 segments.Hyatt.com price for each night: 9/27 $399, 9/28 $299, 9/29 $419, 9/30 $419, 10/1 $399, 10/2 $399, 10/3 $259.Here are the best prices that I can found on HOTWIRE for hyatt after trying many diff combination.9/27-9/29 N/A9/29-10/2 $22510/2-10/4 $155 Started at 7/27 to bid for 10/2-10/4 since this window seem to be the cheapest. tried $80 bid and $90 free rebid for two days with no luck. On 7/29, increased the initial bid to $95, come back with a counter offer of $20 more. rebid at $102, got rejected again. changed the time to 10/1-10/4. bid at $95, rejected. rebid at $110, accepted. Asked for 3-day extension since it's our desired hotel. Priceline offered $128. took it to avoid the potential hassle of changing hotel.total charge (with tax and fee) for 6 nights (9/28-10/4) is ~$850. It is probably not the better deal. but I am happy anyway since it got good review on this board. Used this board's link to PRICELINE for all my biddings. Now, my next task is to find/bid the remaining night 9/27-9/28 of my trip. Suggestions are welcomed!
