Priceline Hotel: Need help trying to book a hotel in NYC (technical)

Hey everyone,

First time posting, however I've read through this forum before for the past two years and have booked my hotels with priceline with no problem. My situation is, I've read through numerous posts of members being able to find their hotels in NYC (CPS, SoHo, MSG MTE, MTW, ESB, Chelsea, and TS) for reasonably around $140-$180 for a 3 star or above for a few days.

I've read through this thread, and it was very helpful in learning how to use priceline strategically:

I've tried that with no success. Believe it or not, I even superceeded that $180 bid with $210 and I couldn't find anything.

So here is the information about my trip dates, I want 4 days, 3 nights in NYC near a subway line (so not Brooklyn, Long Island, UES or UWS). Pretty typical New York Tourist eh?

Okay well I do prefer an area with lots of nice restaurants with access to subway for tourist attractions (ESB, Rockafella Center, MSG, TS, etc.) with a 3* or above just for quality and peace of mind.

Budget: Ideal =<$150 USD per night is my PREFERRED BUDGET!!! (will go up to $185, $200 if absolutely necessary).

I wanted to book these dates:

- Mon, Aug 18-Aug21,

- Tues Aug 19 - Aug 22,

- Wed Aug 20-23

OR as a last resort, Aug 26-29.

I've tried the above two dates as they are my preferred but neither of them have resulted in anything. I started at $100 and went up in increments (including resets after all rebid zones were selected) up to $210, and nothing. I would be inclined to bid more, however after reading that my ideal room was "attainable" I decided to post here to ask for advice.

Sorry about the long post, hopefully I can get some replies from this wonderful board, thanks in advanced, looking forward to all replies.

It would be appreciated if you shared your results with the board (and use our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links)... it's the lineline that keeps this place running. :)

To avoid any confusion and make sure that we're including all possible scenarios, exactly which zones (by PRICELINE name) are you willing to accept?
