tieum Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Hello,I was looking for an hotel in Paris thru priceline (regular not bidding) to have an idea of what was there and came accross the following hotel:Best Western Apollonia 2 and half Star $96 in Les Halles - Le Marais. When I went to the details of this hotel the real address is : Route De Fontainebleau - Rn7, 27, Rue De La Saussaie St. Fargeau-Ponthierry, FR-77310which is some 30 miles from the location pointed on Priceline and way out the zone See http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=...e=UTF8&z=11 )If I were to bid and get this hotel what would be Priceline policy when I come and complain that the hotel is misplaced and way out of the zone I choose? Thanks,Tieum
thereuare Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 The "retail" version of PRICELINE and the "name your own price" version use different pools of inventory, as well as different boundaries to designate a given zone... so there is a good chance this hotel would not appear in the Opera Quarter East - Les Halles (notice the name of this zone is different than the "retail" versino zone of " Les Halles - Le Marais")Should you win a hotel in the 'opaque' version of PRICELINE and it's outside of the boundaries of the zone you should be entitled to a refund (although somtimes you really have to emphasize and make it easy for them to see how the hotel is located outside of the zone... the people in the call centers don't know the areas all over the world and usually just reply that the hotel is indeed inside the boundaries of the zone)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
