tieum Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Hello,I am willing to stay in Charleston, SC (preferably Mount Pleasant) between 08/14 and 08/17. I was wondering what a good starting price would be and also if I could get a better deal by splitting my stay in different bids? Thanks in advance for your advices.Tieum
thereuare Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! What star rating are you seeking? What is your maximum bid?Note that the "Mt Pleasant" zone also includes Isle of Palms... is anywhere within the shaded boundary of the region acceptable to you?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. tieum Posted August 2, 2008 Author Report Posted August 2, 2008 Thanks!I read a couple reviews about Mt Pleasant hotel and do not want to take a chance on 2* hotels. So I guess 3/4 would be nice.ANy where in the shaded area would be fine. I was also considering if I should look into downtown Charleston and Ashley river. I need to be "not to far" from West Mount Plesant and I'll have a car. Just wondering if the river crossings can get congested sometimes.I was also considering N Charleston for the 16-17 night since I fly out in the morning on the 17.Regarding the price the lower the better ;-) but definitely under $100/nite
thereuare Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 Which of the above zones you mentioned above do you want to include in your bidding? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3* or are you looking for the least expensive 3* or better hotel for this stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. tieum Posted August 2, 2008 Author Report Posted August 2, 2008 Hello,I am not willing to pay more for a 4*.I would prefer being in Mount Pleasant but do not care for a short drive if it can save me some money.Tieum

thereuare Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 The HOTWIRE hotel above is a match for the Comfort Suites At Isle Of Palms Connector so that would be our best guess. Is this a good option for you or do you want to try bidding on PRICELINE for a 3* up to $100/nite?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. tieum Posted August 2, 2008 Author Report Posted August 2, 2008 I'd better try to get a lower price on priceline before.BTW I found this one: Quality Inn & Suites Patriots Point [edit info]196 Patriots Point RdMount Pleasant, SC 29464, United States(843) 856-8817at $102/nite directly on their website so if I got unlucky with PL I would go for this one.

thereuare Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread (if you ultimately use HOTWIRE we'll move the entire thread to that section of the board)The HOTWIRE hotel above is a match for the Holiday Inn Charleston-Mt. Pleasant so that would be our best guess. However, on my search it's coming up at $99/nite, and there is a lot of room between this price and your last $65 bid on PRICELINE... would you want to go another round of PRICELINE bidding in an attempt to do better than $99?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. tieum Posted August 5, 2008 Author Report Posted August 5, 2008 For sure! If I can save. I am just monitoring HOTWIRE at the same time to avoid overbidding.
