Priceline Hotel: 4* 08/14/08-08/18/08 Advice

Hello, at the moment I'm looking for a NYC hotel August 14th-18th, I've got 6 Columbus Circle as a cancellable backup on Quickbook for $188/night. So far I've bid up to $165 on PL and nothing. I'm wondering if including the Thursday maybe making rates more expensive? If I was going to split my bid, does it make most sense to split it with 08/14 - 08/15 in one bid, and 08/15-08/18 in another? My max bid I'm willing to go up to be $165-$170 for a 4*, and I'm willing to stay in ESB/Times Sq/MTE. I would rather avoid MTW as some of the hotels in the zone have very unfavorable reviews.

At the moment, it doesn't appear that SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID is going to help you that much, but you can give it a try. You would want to go thru each bidding strategy for the following dates:

8/14-8/18

8/15-8/18

8/14-8/17

8/16-8/18

8/14-8/16

I do think you can get a slghtly cheaper rate for just the nite of 8/17, but not sure if it would be worth the effort to move for just the last nite of your stay.

Is there a reason you're avoiding the CPS zone at the 4* level?

Only real reason is my backup hotel was in CPS zone, so wasn't sure if it be worth it winning it on PRICELINE. But I suppose I should include that zone as well, I'll keep bidding and see if things get cheaper closer to my dates.

Thanks
