dsiewmy Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Hey guys, I'm new here, & nice to meet everybody.I'm from Malaysia and managed to get some cheaper air tix to NYC coming Sept. So, I'm planning a "honeymoon on budget" to NYC and would require rooms during 9/18 to 9/21 and 9/27 to 9/28.Reason for the gap is because I'm signing up on a tour for 7 days with tours4fun.com (anybody have other recommendations)?I'd like to stay in MTE, MTW, TS or somewhere convenient to travel within Manhattan as I plan to visit by foot or public transport.I have a budget of $100 ($135 inc taxes) per night and was wondering if it's possible to get a 3* or better during this season.Reason I'm asking is because when I input $100, the "small chance of being accepted" is not there.Anyway, I'd just like to ask everybody's idea if :(1) my budget is OK for this time period(2) when should I start bidding?(3) what other tips to share?(4) what hotels do i really have a chance to book as a backup in case, my travel agent suggests Flushing International at Flushing for $120/night (not sure about cancellation policies).I also realised that priceline & hotwire seems to prompt me a very pricey range (above $300/night for most hotels).Anyway, thanks in advance for all the help!
dsiewmy Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 Finally managed to win something. An update from my previous post. For my 9/18 ~ 9/21 i realised i couldn't because 9/18 was just simply too expensive. One i split it out, i managed a win at $190.Anyway for those who don't mind staying in Brooklyn, the NU Hotel is doing a great deal at $169/night and being a new hotel, it should be good.
