aaronmidnight
Had to bid quickly this afternoon for my sister who did not want to overpay for a quick stay in the city.Started at 4* in a few zones (Central Park South, Empire State Bldg, Midtown East and UES) that would be most convenient for her. Bid up to $130 in 4*, then added 3* (same zones) and decreased bid to $125.Still nothing, so I dropped the bid a bit further to $120 and added 2.5*. Won the Wellington Hotel, which has a good location (7th Avenue and 55th Streets) and decent reviews on TripAdvisor. With taxes and fees, the Priceline win came to about $150. The lowest rate on the Wellington's site is over $300 with tax, so I feel good getting this for my sister approximately 50% off. :) Forgot to use the PRICELINE link this time, but will try to remember to do so next time...UPDATE - I don't think this hotel (or any 2.5*) is listed on the Priceline hotel lists for this zone, so the administrator might want to add it...
