Hotwire Hotel: Need some advice on boston

I'll be travelling for the first time to Boston from Aug 11-13 with 2 adults+2 child. I already have a reservation at the Park Plaza Boston Hotel @119+taxes booked through their website a couple of months ago. I searched HOTWIRE and the prices for a 3* is $179. Do you think I'll be able to get a better deal? Something under $100 for downtown Boston. I know parking is going to cost about $40! We're planning to see the museum of science, Boston duck tour, aquarium, and whale watching. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm currently not showing any hotels in Downtown Boston for quad occupancy (and i think the quad occupancy is part of the 'problem' you're facing with high prices and low availability)... are you still seeing hotels in this area when searching quad occupancy for your dates?

Remember that you can always drop the family off at the hotel, unload the car, and then park for less outside of the city while taking the T back in.

Unfortunately I'm not seeing anything either. The 4* in Boston Common is $319 :) According to the board, Priceline is not an option because the rooms tend to be small so chances of getting two beds is slim and there might not be enough room for the inflatable bed. I'll continue to monitor HOTWIRE, but my chances of securing a room for $100 don't seem to promising.

Do you have any recommendations to parking? I've never been to Boston before. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately i'm not familiar enough with the city to know where there is parking on the outskirts of the city with good T access back in... but i wouldl think it's a possible option. Another (easier to research) option is to park at the longterm lot at the airport as i do know there is train access from the airport back to the city.

It doesn't seem likely I would be able to get a better deal on HOTWIRE than my existing reservation, so I'll just stick with that. Thanks for your thougts thereuare. :)
