Wilson Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 After a disaster staying at Maple Grove's Extended Stay America, I decided to bid around Mall of America area, and will avoid 2 stars at all cost, as my girlfriend wanted to shop at Mall of America after we had fun shopping at Albertville's Premium Outlet.Started from $35, increased $1 at a time, accepted at $44.Let's hope this hotel isn't as bad as Extended Stay America ...Le Bourget Aero Suites 3-starAirport - Mall Of America Vicinity7770 Johnson AvenueBloomington, Minnesota 55435952-893-9999See Hotel WebsiteView Map and Directions Check-In Date:Wed, Jul 30, 2008 / After 03:00 PMCheck-Out Date:Thu, Jul 31, 2008 / 12:00 PMAmenities: Remote control TV w/ premium channels Radio Alarm Clock Business services Telephone w/ voicemail Iron and ironing board Hairdryer 24 hour front desk Restaurant Room service Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $44.00Subtotal: $44.00Taxes & Service Fees: $12.94Total Charges*: $56.94
Wilson Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 Just read reviews of this hotel on TripAdvisor ... and DAMN! Those reviews were bad ... I hope it isn't ... :)I guess there isn't a good hotels around MN area? :)The last time I had Hilton around the area and it was good ...
Wilson Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 I still couldn't sleep well today, so I decided to call Le Bourget, hoping that I could get an early check in, but I was told that they are at 100% capacity, no open rooms available. They set me up with a queen room, I requested for king, but they wouldn't let me do it, as they said "according to our reservation, the rate you reserved is for queen bed room" ... kind of bull shyt to me, as all the 3* hotels I've bid on in the last 6 months came with king bed ... those included Kansas City (Hyatt/Hilton/etc.), Illinois (Chicago and Suburbs), Denver CO areas ... this is the first 3* hotel that's giving me queen bed in my last 6 months ...They told me I can check in at noon earliest ... kind of suck for me as I can't sleep, and it's 5:50am now ... need to go shopping with my girlfriend later as well ... I guess it's the 2nd night without quality sleep ...
thereuare Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 I wouldn't write this one off just yet.Best rate on their website is $144 so this is a very good deal. As well, there are no King bedded rooms available on their site so it's quite possible that what the clerk told you is true... although it wouldn't hurt to ask again at check-in (even offer to pay for an upgrade if it's worth it to you)Enjoy your stay... here's hoping for better than last nite! :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Wilson Posted August 7, 2008 Author Report Posted August 7, 2008 Okay, my review. The rooms look pretty good, worth the 3 star rating. But the flat-screen TV is kind of weird. There is a partition in between the bed and the couch, and th LCD is in between those, which you can't get a good view from the couch or from the bed. The design is kind of weird, the the mattress are no doubt very comfortable. One good thing though is that they are pet friendly ...The corridor smells of chlorine ... and it is very strong ... front desk and the bar tender were very friendly and helpful ...For the price, it is pretty decent ... but not the best 3 star I have stayed in ... It does in fact look run down, but you can tell they spent quite a lot of money renovating ...And it is definitely not as bad as all the reviews say they are ... unless you're really fussy ... can't complain for the price ... :)
