greenjade08 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Hi! This is my first time using PRICELINE, and it would be great to get some advice! We are looking to book a 3 star or 4 star hotel from November 5 to 7. The districts wanted:MTEMTWTimes SquareMTSClose access to transit is important. Our price range would ideally be $150. Some suggestions would be great! Thanks! :)
thereuare Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! This is historically an expensive time in NYC and i'm doubtful that you'll be successful for a 3* or 4* hotel for $150 for the above dates. Have you researched prices thru conventional means (use our BetterChecker to assist in your search)... what's the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for this stay? We'll suggest a strategy for whatever amount you choose, but i just don't think $150 is in the right ballpark based upon current rates. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. greenjade08 Posted August 2, 2008 Author Report Posted August 2, 2008 Yes, I was looking on one of the other November posts! I guess $250 is a good maximum. Thanks!
thereuare Posted August 3, 2008 Report Posted August 3, 2008 Two more questions in order to move forward...1) did you want to try for a 4* first up to your limit and then try for a 3* up to your limit OR are you looking for the least expensive 3* or better in any of the above zones? (i'm assuming the latter, but please confirm)2) note that at the 3* level there are some hotels which are about a 10-15 minute walk to the subway station, would this be acceptable? (although there are busses which are closer which you could always take to your distination or to the subway)Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
