Rita58 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Hello,I am new to the PRICELINE / HOTWIRE bidding process. I am planning on traveling to Boston with my daughter (August 2 - 6, 2008). I chose one zone, then added another, selected 4 * and 3.5* hotels, and put a bid in for 70, which on the following tries increased to $90. The bid was not accepted, and now I need to wait for 24 hours. Is there a way to shorten the time for re-bid? We have very little time before leaving. Is there any other strategy I can use? What should be an acceptable bid for a 3.5*/4* hotel in downtown Boston? I would appreciate help!!
thereuare Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few questions...PRICELINE doesn't use a 3* level in their rating system, was it actually 3 stars that you bid? Which zone(s) did you bid at the 4* level? Which zones did you bid at the 3* level? (assuming it was indeed 3 stars that you had bid)Which zones are you willing to accept and that is your maximum bid? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3* or are you looking for the least expensive 3* or better hotel in any of the zones you select?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
