I have read through and understand the bidding procedure. That said, so far I am having zero luck( after two days and 16? attempts I am up to $120) getting a 4* in USE. Is it because I am not staying a weekend, but rather a Sunday-Wednesday, making me more of a business traveler candidate.

I was hoping for the Hyatt or even the Hilton, but so far no luck. What are the boutiques like and should I add them.

I am taking my wife and daughter and was hoping for something nice.

Thanks

Orbitz is having a 20% off sale. If you keep bidding and you have no success, you might want to look at booking through them. You would also have more control over where and what you get.

There's still time for PRICELINE, though, and you'll pay a penalty if you cancel with Orbitz. So keep your chin up and keep trying.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I am taking my wife and daughter and was hoping for something nice.
Since PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy i assume you're OK with the risk that you may get a hotel wtih only one bed?

If you'd like to continue trying on PRICELINE what is your maximum bid? If you weren't aware that priceline only guarantees double occupancy you can use HOTWIRE which allows you to search for up to quad ocucpancy.

Let us know your thoughts regarding the above and we'll take it from there.

My daughter is young, so if we end up with one bed it usually works (most of the time I get the option of King or 2 queens, but is SF different in this regard?).

Thanks for the headsup.

Success, but I probably left money on the table (not that I'm complaining, but as a guide to others).

First bid at $105 accepted. Hyatt Regency Embarcadero

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $105.00

Subtotal: $315.00

Taxes & Service Fees: $54.99

Total Charges*: $369.99

Thank you all and I did click on the PRICELINE link in your message to begin. I hope I did that right.
