xbrutalitorx Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 hello first time poster!I am working on planning a trip to vegas we will be checking in on sept 26th and checking out on sept 28th.we wanted to stay in a nicer hotel. (last trip we were in the dreadful saharah)right now we are considering caesers palace for 180 a night. but i think we could do much better.we will need 2 rooms.we would like to be close to the main part of the strip, no where near the saharah/ circus circus area.the budget per room we would like to keep to around 140. would we have success in getting a 4 or 5 * room for that?please any info would be great. i would love to start bidding soon!THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL THE HELP!
thereuare Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding!First issue is that PRICELINE has some properties which are in the strip zone(s) but off the strip itself... most notably the Trump and the Westin. Would these properties be acceptable?Let us know so we know what our options are. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. xbrutalitorx Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 i will use those links for sure!!!i think the trump would be ok. the westin the reviews were not as positive. i would like to avoid it. but many of the hotels we were hoping for are in the same star range. so i guess we will give it a shot.what is the likleyhood of it ending up being the westin?its worth the risk for a cheap rate i suppose!thanks for the info how should i proceed.
thereuare Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 Did you want to bid up to your limit first for a 5* hotel or are you looking for the least expensive 4* or better hotel for these dates? Is both North Strip and South Strip equally acceptable?I don't think you'll be successful for a 5* hotel for $140, but if you're trying to upgrade your accomodations vs. Caesars and willing to go up to $180 i think you have a better shot (or maybe if it came to that you'd just want to stick with Caesars?)Let us know your thoughts and we'll take it from there. xbrutalitorx Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 4 star is fine. we are just looking for a nice place. location on the strip is not as important.
xbrutalitorx Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 also caesers is out as the prices have jumped 50 dollars since yesterday
thereuare Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Not sure if $140 will be enough, but assuming both the North and South strip are acceptable, i would try as follows:At the 4* level you have two re-bid zones available. (Summerlin is not one of them) If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 4* South Strip...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $110, if reejcted close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* North Strip...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $110, if reejcted close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESeelct 4* South Strip and re-bid zone2...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $120, if reejcted close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESeelct 4* North Strip and re-bid zone2...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $120, if reejcted close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* South Strip and North Strip...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $130, if reejcted close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESeelct 4* South Strip and North Strip and re-bid zone2...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $140Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
