tarina
My first time using PRICELINE. Started bid at $70 and went up to $85 adding rebid zones 1, 2 and 3 for a 3* but all were rejected. I'm worried that if I keep bidding I'll overpay for a 3*. Any suggestions or strategies? Link to comment
under-h2o-nerd
I've been bidding similar dates (8/14-8/17) for the past few days, and have yet to get an offer for bids up to $110 (including 2.5*). I think it's just an expensive (and relatively full) time of year for DT Seattle... Link to comment

tarina
Well, I did a little more research and found the cheapest rate to be $153/night for a 3* and so I started bidding at $120. Lo and behold I was successful on the first try. Makes me think maybe I overpaid? :) What I got was the Holiday Inn Seattle, 8/13 - 8/15, $120/night, $284.28 after taxes and service fees. thereuare
Thank you for sharing your winning bid with the board. You did save $30/nite so at least you experienced some savings, but you probably could have done a bit better. Next time take it one step at a time and ask for help before bidding. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
