crazywudl Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Hi all,I'm attempting to book 2 rooms(4-star August 25/26/27th 3 nights) for the Niagara Falls Area using Hotwire or Priceline. If anyone has any idea what the following Hotwire hotel might be, please advise.$119 per night, 4 StarsSmoke Free Rooms, Pools, Business Center, Fitness Center, Restaurants, High-speed Internet accessTrip Advisor 4 out of 5 260+ reviews, last reviews June 2008The party basically consists of 2 adults and 2 young children for each room, so i was hoping for convenience. I looked at the Sheraton Fallsview and Sheraton on the Falls hotels since i have SPG membership, but it appears their rooms are on relatively short supply and they don't appear to be offering any discounted rates. Anyone have any suggestions as to what my best strategy might be..either priceline or hotwire and whether rooms might open up at some point in August?thanks in advance, andrew
thereuare Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Welcome to BetterBidding! The HOTWIRE hotel above is a match for the Sheraton Fallsview so that would be our best guess.Do you want to go for this offering or try PRICELINE?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes, or if you want to give PRICELINE a try, let us know your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. crazywudl Posted July 29, 2008 Author Report Posted July 29, 2008 Hi there,Thanks for your help, i think the Sheraton Fallsview would be a good choice though i'd prefer the Sheraton on the Falls. I've never used hotwire before, though i have had success in the past with priceline. Could you give me a strategy for priceline with a max bid of $125($150 gets me sheraton on the falls outright if i do 3 days). I've scoured all the Niagara boards but haven't seen enough posts to be comfortable with what are the most likeliest candidates for a 4* in Niagara via priceline. What would you guess are the most likely hotels to accept out of the list posted in the 4* list? Would i be best bidding now, and continue bidding starting low now hoping to get lucky, then just take whatever it takes as the date gets closer? I have Gold Status from Sheraton SPG, do you think that even if i win with priceline or hotwire, that i might still be able to get an upgrade if available upon check-in?PS. I will follow your advice once my friend tells me (later this week hopefully) if he can get an adjournment on some case that is scheduled during our proposed vacation plans.thanks again, andrew
