Priceline Hotel: NYC 10/9 - 10/11 2 rooms ***

Hi,

I just browsed several pages like priceline, hotwire, Expedia etc. and the hotel prices for October are :)

Is there any chance that we can get two decent rooms (3 or 4 star category) under 240/room/night?

Area Madison Sq/Times Sq/ Midtowen East/West, Empire State.

4 People, 2 per room. Not to the max yet, but I have my doubts that they will accept an offer that low if I look at the "standard" prices.

I think you have a decent chance at a 4* for $240 or less (if not, you're not far off).

Are you willing to go up to your maximum bid at this point in time? Are you willing to spend more for a 4* vs. a 3* or are you looking for the least expensive 3* or better hotel for this stay? Which zones are you willing to accept?

240 is the absolute max that we could afford. 200-220 would be ideal. Does not matter if it is a 3* or 4*. Areas: Empire State, Madison Sq Garden, Midtown Est and West, Times Square, Chelsea.

Our problem at the moment is that we found no backup Hotel to wait with bidding a few weeks.

We are afraid that we will get nothing if we bid in a few weeks!

I would say our current maximum is around 200-210 for a 4*....

From your previous reply it sounds as if you wanted to try for the least expensive 3* or better hotel... but you only provided a maximum bid for a 4* hotel? Did you want to try for a 4* up to your limit before trying for a 3* OR do you still seeking the least expensive 3* or better hotel for this stay? (which if this is the case please let us know your current maximum bid for a 3* hotel)

As a back-up your could book The Pod hotel for $249/nite (this is for a room with a privage bath... not the $159/nite rate which is a shared bath which i woudln't recommend) thru Quickbook (please use this link if you go this route). This is not a 4* (nor a 3*) hotel but it gets very good reviews and can be cancelled up to a couple of days before your stay and at least you'll know you have something acceptable which would alleviate some of the pressure when bidding.
