bouche Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 The most rooms and nights I've ever worked with on Priceline before would be 2 rooms for 1 night, and I always get wicked deals. However, after bragging about this to my father-in-law, he now expects me to get 3 rooms for 3 nights in Quebec City from thursday - sunday. Is this even possible? Since pricing differs on thursdays from weekends, should I actually try for 2 separate requests? 3 rooms for 1 night on thursday, and 3 rooms for 2 nights starting on friday? To take the question further, is requesting 3 rooms much harder to get accepted than I expect?

thereuare Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 I don't see too much of a rate change between the midweek dates and the weekend dates so i would expect that to be an issue. No way to know if the number of rooms will be a problem, just have to give it a go.Are you ready to bid now? bouche Posted July 25, 2008 Author Report Posted July 25, 2008 I'm fine with the 3* rooms. I've seen the list, and they're all nice. I don't want to spend more than $100 per night per room. Ready to bid now for sure. I will pitch a different trip if I can't get a decent price since there is a budget on this trip.
thereuare Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 At the 3* level you haev one re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Quebec...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70.If the above is rejected re-try every 24 hours over the next 3-4, increase each bid by $5, until you reach your $100 limit. bouche Posted July 27, 2008 Author Report Posted July 27, 2008 thanks for the added tip. I didn't know that about priceline. how do I know if there are no 4* hotels in another zone for rebidding? (let me guess, there's a link here somewhere, isn't there?)
thereuare Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 From Priceline Re-Bidding Explained:The way to check what star levels are available in each zone is to open a Priceline page, check ONLY the zone you are inquiring about, and then proceed to the next page (as if you were going to select a zone)... this will give you the available star ratings in that area. You can then hit BACK on your browser, uncheck the current box, check the next box, and repeat the process. It is important to do this before EACH attempt at adding a zone that you really don't want, as new hotels can be added and the star ratings can change at any time. (NOTE: for most users Priceline has updated their interface making the above process easier... simply check a zone and note the highest star rating available within each zone, UNcheck that zone and checkmark the next zone, repeating the process)If you're new to PRICELINE and/o re-bidding, it's strongly encouraged you confirm your re-bid zones with the board before bidding. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
