New here but already feel like I've gleaned a wealth of knowledge from the posts I've read. So here's where I could use some help. I'll be in Toronto from Aug 4 through Aug 6, need to stay downtown and would prefer a hotel with its own parking facilities. I love the idea of getting a 4* at the winning bids I've seen posted here but it seems that parking at these locations is extremely expensive. Should I keep my bidding at 3* (or even 2*) with hopes of getting a location with reasonable parking? I'm open to all suggestions ~ the parking situation has been the thorn in all my trip planning so far.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I don't think you're going to find too much difference between the parking changes at a 3* hotel vs. a 4* hotel (at least there won't be enough of a concensus to make a decision one way or the other... you may find some 4* hotels which have less expensive parking than some 3* properties... once you get into the 2.5* range you may see cheaper parking rates).

However, do you need your car during your stay? Most choose Downtown locations for the convenience of walking at nite (or short cab rides) to restaurants and other evening entertainment... could you find a garage nearby and park if the hotel you receive is too expensive? I don't think you're going to find free parking at a downtown hotel.

Let us know your thoughts and we'll advise accordingly.

Thank you for your help! I don't plan on doing any driving during my stay so I just need the car to be somewhere secure while I'm in town. My friend I'm visiting doesn't drive so she isn't much help as far as directing me on good places to park for a couple of days.

Using your PRICELINE link I decided to start with $65, hoping I'd get something on the first try.

$65 for 4* in Downtown Toronto was rejected.

Rebid $68 adding the Mississauga zone. Rejected.

Rebid $70 adding the Oakville - Burlington zone. Rejected.

Travel funds are pretty tight and I decided I didn't want to go any higher than $70 unless it was absolutely necessary. Opened a new browser, went through your PRICELINE link again and bid $60 for a 3* in Downtown Toronto.

Your Price Was Accepted

Congratulations, your price of $60 was accepted by Delta Chelsea.

I'm perfectly happy with the location and the price. Thank you again for your assistance.
