kuby71 Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 i've been trying since 7-17-08 to get 1, 4-star room in chicago. i started on monday with 80.00 for mill park and for river north area. all being rejected.yesterday i bid $95.00 for mill park and for north river for dates of 7-31/8-2 and for 8-1/8-3. this was rejected. today i get an e-mail from priceline showing discount prices for major cities. i click into into it. the email shows name your own price and it has chicago millinium park for $95.00. so i click into it. it brings me to the main priceline page for dates and location. i put in dates of 7-31/8-2 for mill park and river north and a price of $100. rejected! i changed the date to 8-1/83, rejected! what am i doing wrong?anybody have any good advice?i was hoping to take a 3 day trip to chicago with the wife and kids (shed's and the museum). looking to stay downtown so we could walk around and show the kids a big city.thanks in advance, kuby
thereuare Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 Rates are date specific and for your dates above rates are very high. In fact, doing a quick search for two frequently won hotels in these zones, the Hyatt and the Palmer House, both are sold-out for your dates. What is your maximum bid? What is the best deal you're able to find outside of PRICELINE and HOTWIRE?Also, are you searching for only one room? It sounds as fi you'll be (at least) quad occupancy, and just a warning that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy... is this a risk you're willing to accept? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
