Bidding for a 4-star hotel in Rochester, NY for the evening of (Wednesday) August 13th.

So far, I've been unsuccessful with the following bids:

$55

$61

$62

$66

$67

$81

$85

Someone posted here yesterday saying they successfully bid on a Friday-night stay at the same hotel for only ~$50. I'm wondering if there's a conference or something of the sort the day I'm trying to stay there...!

I changed the day to (Tuesday) August 12th, and was able to bid 4 times by successively adding new regions, even though I think there are only two 4* hotels in the whole Rochester area. Anyway, I was able to put a bid through for all of the following amounts, none of which were successful.

$60

$65

$70

$75

The previous Rochester Hyatt win you're refering to is for a weekend nite, when hotel direct rates start at $139/nite. For each of the nites you're inquiring above rates are in the $200+ range.

What is your maximum bid? How flexible are you in your date of travel?

I bid today again for the following prices for an August 13th stay, using the PRICELINE link at the top of this page:

$90

$92

$100

$105

And then, since I'd run out of zones to keep bidding on, I bid for an August 12th stay for

$110

All of my bids were unsuccessful.

I'm going to see now if we can change our travel plans to stay instead on a weekend, or, failing that, look for a highly-rated fewer-star hotel.
