71Corvette Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 Hi All,Well, I've found myself in a bit of a bind. My girlfriend and I will be visiting NYC for a three night stay between Thursday 7/24 and Sunday 7/27. This is now just a few days out and I still haven't been able to find a reasonably priced hotel. In the past I've been able to get very reasonable prices in the Times Square area (<$150/night). However, after trying to get a reasonble price for some time I'm running out of options. I've bid up to $170/night, down to a 2.5 star hotel, for all areas on the island of Manhattan with no luck. The thought of spending $700 for three nights in a hotel isn't appealing so now I'm looking elsewhere.Of all the areas off the island of Manhattan, which is the most convenient to NYC? I'm leaning toward Jersey City right now, but I notice that the NYC subway doesn't go to NJ. For what it's worth, we'll be flying out of JFK.Thanks for any thoughts and advice, I need it!Tim
AaronJB Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 Quikbook has a fantastic deal on the 6 Columbus Circle Hotel for $139 for these dates. That's a REALLLY, REALLLY good deal for a VERY nice hotel in Midtown. The lowest rate on the hotel's own website is much more for these dates. If you are interested, it would be greatly appreciated if you could start your purchase by using the site's link to Quikbook.com (click the Quikbook.com)
thereuare Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 Does that Quickbook deal work for you... it really is a GREAT price of a hotel which gets great reviews... or would you rather try to beat that by bidding PRICELINE?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (or Quickbook if you go that route) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
